Building 4 was constructed in 1964 to serve as the headquarters building for the United States Army Infantry School. The new building will serve as the consolidation of the Armory Center and Infantry Center Headquarters. The renovation was needed to meet major code and criteria requirement changes that had occurred since 1964 – such as upgrading of the life safety features throughout including, but not limited to, the addition of modern sprinkler systems, mass notification system, fire alarm systems, and egress provisions. The commissioning verified to the Government that the systems function together properly to meet performance requirements and design intents.
